UCRS is one of the greatest assets of UC. But it faces increasing challenges. I am prepared to help address those challenges on behalf of the University community. I enrolled at UCLA 40 years ago, as a freshman in 1967. My B.A. and M.B.A. degrees are from UCLA. I have been a UCLA staff member since 1973, including nearly 20 years as Assistant Chancellor and primary assistant to longtime UCLA Chancellor Charles Young. I have studied UCRS financial statements and policies for 20+ years and know the organizational structure and dynamics of University decision-making at the highest levels. At the same time, I value my day-to-day interactions with individual faculty and staff and listening to their concerns about the University.
