Benefits Q & A |
|
Q. As part of my recent divorce settlement, I must give five years of UCRP service credit to my former spouse. I had 17 years of service credit and now have 12. If I retire this year, will my divorce settlement affect my retiree health insurance premiums since I am subject to graduated eligibility? In other words, will I get 85% of the UC contribution or only 60%?
A. Your UC contribution to your retiree health insurance premiums will be based on your 17 years of service credit, not on the 12 years.
